Berry Banana squares – GLUTEN-FREE

Advertisements

VEGAN, VEGETARIAN, GLUTEN-FREE

Bananas are the perfect fuel for most kids. As much as kids do consume them regularly, we always have a few over-ripe bananas.Β

These banana berry squares are just a simple variation to humble banana bread. Made with no added sugars – these squares are actually super sweet that they can count as a dessert. Banana, dates, raisins and berries – really do we need any added sugars ?πŸ˜› This recipe is completely gluten-free made with oats and almond flour. The flaky oats along with the natural oils of almond flour makes these bar very soft and moist. Little bit of olive oil enhances that texture, but can be completely omitted if counting calories.Β

I also added a cup of berry puree which can be prepare by cooking berries in a cup of water and blending to a puree. Alternatively this Strawberry sauce recipe can also be used which adds a little bit of additional sweetness.Β

This berry puree can also be completely replaced with milk (oat milk works well) to add some moisture to the treat.

This adds a nice berry flavor and a slight tang. Raisins in every bite gives the burst of sweetness. Easy, peasy squares – sure to delight any kid and adult.Β
