Banana brownie bites

Relish a brownie filled with banana, dates and topped with peanut butter and walnuts. Simple ingredients and under 15 minutes to assemble.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients-

  • 3/4 cup Whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup Cacao powder
  • 3/4 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg grated
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Wet Ingredients-

  • 1/2 cup Olive oil
  • 3/4 cup Dates paste
  • 2 Bananas very ripe
  • 2 tbsps Flaxmeal soak in warm water
  • 2 tbsps Peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup Walnut pieces
  • 2 tbsps Almond milk optional

Instructions

  • Mix the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl, set aside
  • Take another mixing bowl and mash the bananas coarsely, add date paste, olive oil and flax meal paste; mix well 
  • Now add the dry ingredients to this mixture and combine well 
    If it seems thick, add the almond milk to loosen a bit 
  • Layer a brownie pan with parchment paper and pour the batter and spread evenly
  • Sprinkle the peanut butter all over; sprinkle broken walnuts all over
  • Bake at 350 degrees in a preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a fork at the middle part of the tray. The fork should come out clean
  • Turn off the oven and leave it in for another 5 minutes to crisp up
  • Remove and let it cool for 10 minutes 
  • Cut into 1-2 inch squares
